Once again the Moodus Corps has been asked to participate in Schuylerville’s annual "Turning Point Parade" This Parade celebrates the so called "Turning Point" of the American War for Independence. After the battles of “Freedman’s Farm” and “Bemis Heights” where the American troops led by General Arnold and Gates stopped the British advance, the British under General Burgoyne regrouped at Schuylerville. It was at Schuylerville, that General Burgoyne, with supplies and manpower running low and his line of retreat back toward Canada being blocked asked for terms of surrender.

The parades begins at 1:00 PM at the spot where General Burgoyne maintained his headquarters. A small sign in the parking lot of a greasy spoon denotes this area. The parade proceeds down Main Street basically following the path General Burgoyne soldiers upon his surrender
